Beltane Celebration, Storytelling & Feast ~ Upwey Wishing Well ~ 3/5/26 ~ 4.30pm

Join us for a very special Beltane Celebration at Upwey Wishing Well in Weymouth . . .

The ancient Gaelic festival of Beltane (meaning ‘bright fire’) heralds the height of spring and the beginnings of summer. This is when we in the Northern Hemisphere feel the heat of the sun on our backs and faces, and the warm glow of our celestial star shines upon the Earth, warming the soil, encouraging our Mother Earth to burst into a blooming riot of colour with flowers and foliage in abundance.

Now is the time of the Green Man and Flora, Goddess of Flowers, ‘Queen of the May’, and of gathering in celebration of their welcome return to the woodlands, meadows and forests.

For the ancestral peoples of the UK, Beltane was a high time of high and far-reaching magick; when the veil between our world and the realms of Faerie was at its thinnest, and still today we bless the wells and waterways, the portals to those other lands in Celtic myth and legend.

Earth Kin Events invites those of all faiths and none to join in the celebration of Beltane, as we gather at the ancient site of the Upwey Wishing Well on Sunday 3rd May 2026, 4.30pm.

~ Hear the stories of Beltane as shared by our ancestors for thousands of years and find out how fire was gifted to the human world by a very special messenger from Tír na nÓg.

~ Explore Beltane folklore and why we celebrate the Green Man and the Goddess Flora, why we dance the Maypole and much much more.

~ Join in a ritual well blessing as we make traditional offerings to the Fae and give thanks for the abundant water flowing through these lands.

~ Release what no longer serves into the Beltane fire and offer up your intentions to support yourself lovingly through the summer months.

~ Indulge in scrumptious Beltane feasting with delicious food included in the experience by Upwey Wishing Well’s phenomenal chefs.

Suitable for those over 10 years, though younger children are very welcome to attend. Children must be supervised at all times.
