Summer Solstice Celebration, Upwey Wishing Well, Sunday 22nd June 2026 4.30—6.30pm

The Earth Kin Tribe is delighted to be co-hosting ‘Turn of the Wheel events’ once more with Upwey Wishing Well on Sunday 21st June to celebrate Summer Solstice and the height of the light!

The Summer Solstice occurs at midsummer, when the sun reaches its peak in the summer sky. . . this sacred, celestial event has marked a zenith for the ancestral peoples of these isles and around the world for thousands and thousands of years, with monuments from Stonehenge in Wiltshire, to the Temple of Karnak in Eygpt and Machu Picchu in Peru all aligning with the path of the sun.

Join us as we gather in reverence of this celestial celebration of light, weaving the threads from the ancient past into wisdom for everyday living by sharing seasonal food, stories, songs and blessings in a feast for mind, body and soul.

Erath Kin founder, Ellie Brooks, will be sharing stories in honour of the sun, the heart-fire of our universe, and the Irish Goddess of Summer, Áine; Lady of Light, Queen of the Fae, and an original ‘Lady of the Lake’.

Together, we will take part in a gentle solstice blessing ritual in the sun-dappled grove of the Upwey spring, making traditional offerings and giving thanks for the light and the flowing waters of this sacred land.

To nourish your body as much as your spirit, you will enjoy a delicious feasting platter designed to warm your heart, fill your belly, and warm your soul.

Important Details:

~ Stories and Ritual: Explore Midsummer folklore - what is the Summer Solstice and why do we celebrate the sun at this time? Who is the Goddess Aine, and why has she been hailed as the Goddess of Summer and celebrated at the Summer Solstice for thousands and thousands of years . . . and what wisdom does her story carry for us today?

~ Feasting: Indulge in a scrumptious Summer Solstice platter provided by Upwey Wishing Well’s phenomenal chefs.

~ Blessings: Take part in gentle ritual and offer up your intentions for prosperity and growth, seeking to carry the sun's strength through the months ahead.

~ Age Guidance: Stories are recommended for 10 years and older, but littler ones are very welcome! They may need an activity to keep them entertained: we will have colouring sheets available, but please feel free to bring your own activities for them too. Children must be supervised at all times.
