Ritual Storytelling ~ Beginners & Intermediates Workshop

For tens of thousands of years — some 45,000 years before the written word was born — words were passed from generation to generation: from ear to ear, heart to heart, and soul to soul.

From birth to death, sunrise to sunset, our ancestors’ lives were richly interwoven with story, lore, and myth. Seeded within story, they passed down practical knowledge, spiritual wisdom, and social insight to ensure their children prospered through the ages.

Spiritual leaders gathered communities in story, song, and ritual, connecting people with the unseen world; Elders safeguarded genealogies, histories, and moral lessons in origin tales, folklore, and fairy stories; Bards, poets, and storytellers carried cultural identity across ballads, sagas, and epics.

Now you are invited to gather with Earth Kin founder and ritual storyteller Ellie Brooks, as, for the first time, she shares the secrets of her own wildish and wayward path into storytelling in a workshop setting.

Ellie says:

“I do not teach people to ‘become storytellers’. If your heart leaps when you hear a story told, if you feel the deep undertow of myth and magick stirring in your belly, then the storyteller already lives within you. My role is to create the rituals, safety, and enchantment for that storyteller to emerge — bold, unapologetic, and alive.”

This workshop is a space to meet and honour your inner storyteller, to enter the realm of myth in the way of our ancestors, and to find your voice. Across two immersive days, we will draw stories forth and speak them aloud — because storytelling is not just something we do, it is who we are.

With rituals rooted in pre-Roman wisdom around the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, woven together with Ellie’s own practices, you will be guided through an experiential journey to awaken the storyteller within.

By the end, you can expect to feel more confident in speaking stories aloud, and to carry with you practices to draw from the deep well of mythic imagination.
